... Quality Management and ISO 9000?
-
The ISO 9000 family includes standards for quality management systems with process focus. Requirements within the ISO 9001 audit for example, are the description of all key processes in the business, monitoring processes to increase efficiency and to keep records for further improvement or re-engineering.
With ADONIS you could benefit in each stage of the certification project. You will be able to achieve a better and more flexible picture of your process-landscapes, improve the communication flow between organisation units, measure key performance indicators and keep records of the essential frequent reviewing of processes.
ADONIS offers you the user-friendly possibility to collect and model the interaction, interdependency and process order in your company. ADONIS Modelling-Projects can be exported in conformance with audit documentation and support you in attaining a successful certification.

... Organisation Management (generation of organisation charts, workplace and job descriptions)?
-
ADONIS could support you to improve organisation management through better business understanding. It will allow you to visualise all your core processes for documentation and assist with planning to help your organisation grow and increase its value to its stakeholders.
ADONIS includes a suitable model type to depict organisation charts and to document organisational units, actors, and roles. Further documentation attributes include things such as skills, presence, and availability for example. All these elements can then be referenced from the process model and linked to swimlanes, processes, activities, or any potential object. These links are very important for reporting issues based on cross-references (role-activity matrices, organisational unit-process matrices etc.).
BOC also provides, with ADOorg, an interface to get up-to-date information related to the organisation from Human Resources Management Systems. This powerful feature automates the management of nested organisation charts with:
- Data collection from SAP HR or other systems,
- Automated model generation and import mechanism with updating facilities,
- Automated generation of hierarchically structured charts,
- Documentation and aggregation of HR metrics.
ADONIS provides a number of formats to export repository content out of the tool:
- Text documentation of object or query results (XLS, CSV, TXT, HTML).
- Model graphics (PDF, BMP, JPG, EMF, PNG, PCX, SVG).
- Model information: XML, SGML.
- Model information and graphic: HTML, RTF, Word, and PDF.
Enhanced publishing functionality of ADONIS includes HTML and RTF generation of documents, which can be tailored to client-specific needs. Thus, users can obtain a generated website that mirrors their Intranet/Extranet layout or adheres to their criteria for navigable and user-friendly pages. Reports are available for a single model, a models list or a model hierarchy (e.g. all referenced models). Other options include various layout settings, format profiles, and filters on objects or attributes.

... Business Process modelling and optimisation?
-
ADONIS optionally offers a simulation component to support business process optimisation. With Path Analysis you can reconsider the process flow and test the different possibilities, for example, having a look at the critical paths or testing potential schedule compression.
Simulation can be done with or without consideration of the working environment. You can calculate the start and finish dates for all activities and processes duration or estimate costs. Capacity analysis is used to estimate personnel requirements and costs.
If you use workload analysis, you can include the calculation of waiting times (queue model) and take into consideration different resource calendars.

... personnel resource planning?
-
The optional ADONIS simulation component supports various analytical techniques, like cycle time analysis for example. The cycle time is calculated for the business process being evaluated as well as for all referenced sub processes. The duration estimate is dependent on the quality and availability of the input data. You could analyse the process execution time with constraints like resting time, transport time and waiting time. For each path, the cycle time is calculated in detail and along with the assigned probabilities inside the process flow, you are able to estimate an average time for schedule development purposes. The various analytical techniques are also explained in the ADONIS online help.
If you would like to perform calculations on specific parts (e.g. process architects evaluate automatic parts of a process for SOA planning) of a process you could do this by using agents. During the simulation the agents collect information about the performance of the business process component and thus produce additional simulation results.
Resource planning is often an iterative and ongoing process. With ADONIS you are able to make dynamic resource plan updates and explore different planning aspects.
Capacity analysis estimates the resources needed for a specific process or a group of processes assigned to a working environment model. The workload analysis, in contrast to the path analysis and capacity analysis algorithms, takes the given resources and shows waiting time and durations. You can choose two different workload analysis approaches. On one hand you could use steady-state, which simulates workload with a given quantity of a process occurrence. On the other hand you could apply workload analysis with a timetable constraint.

... Risk Management and compliance scenarios?
-
ADONIS:CE supports you also in risk management and compliance challenges.
The two model types “risk model” and “control model” offer you the ability to create a risk map for risk management. Risk identification and risk response planning in combination with a monitoring and control model register, is used to create a Risk-/Process-/Control-Matrix. This matrix gives you an overview for activity controlling, risk reassessments, impact analysis or recommended preventive actions.
Furthermore professional reports as Risk-Control Reports (SOX Report), and specific risk or control reports are available. If you are interested in a more detailed description of ADONIS:CE risk management and compliance functionality, download here the corresponding documentation.

... process-oriented Application Development and implementation of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA)?
-
The interface between the business processes and their implementation in the IT world is becoming increasingly important in all companies. With the products and services of the BOC Management Office tool-suite, the BOC Group offers various modelled approaches for a process-based Application Development and gives you the option of implementing the Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) within your organisation.
There are many possible ways how ADONIS supports Business IT-Alignment surrounded by service oriented architectures. First of all you can define a broader business scope where the boundaries are organisational structures and do not draw attention only to engine level. You could take into planning consideration the strategy, business rules, resources, functional breakdowns or data and information models.
Use the model type "IT system model" to define services on business level. Prescribe responsibilities for services, service level agreements, input/output of the service and properties.
Furthermore, you could focus on extended modelling with engine design concepts in context with business flows. There is a feature to generate BPMN templates from any business process in ADONIS. A BPMN template can be created using the “Tools” menu in the main toolbar.
The BPMN objects might be extended to complete a BPEL process definition by adding e.g. namespaces, add an assign activity, links, link transitions or additionally information. A BPMN model can be exported from ADONIS and used for BPEL functionality.
