BPM Contest submission - Matthias Gerz

How do you use our tool (what BPM initiatives):

I use ADONIS:CE in teaching and research at a university with students to record processes in our research group. I have already started a “project practical”. It is a special version of a seminar. After the evaluation of this lecture, I think it will be finish in June, I will post the feedback.

What do you like in ADONIS:CE:
In the last days I prepared my course for the next semester and I have to say, that Adonis is very easy to use! So, what I like in Adonis:
- easy and intuitive use
- swimlanes are very smart
- the interconnection between the different models
- HTML Project Export

What are the lessons learned / BPM tips that you would like to share with the Community:
Import Hints (application hints and usage hints) if you work with students:
- Don’t forget to show the correct versioning. Unfortunately you have to do this manual in the Adonis:CE Version.
- The export function is very important to work together (send your project as an Email) and as a backup mechanism.
- In the first step, you let the students create the processes without BPM guidelines.
You will see, that it looks like chaos. After that you show some BPM guidelines. E. g. the usage of swimlanes. I think this is a very good learning effect.
